In January 2006 Dave Sinker finally provided legitimate proof that he was crazy. Seriously, what grown man in his right mind would want to jeopardize his children’s college educations by investing everything he had in a comedy theater? Well, that kind of man is someone who recognizes that we all have the need, especially these days, to laugh and laugh hard. To fulfill his dream, Dave enticed some of Chicagoland’s best trained comedians to come out to Aurora to entertain you in a place that is unlike any other. The Comedy Shrine’s walls and lobby feature comedy memorabilia and collectibles from Dave’s immense personal collection. While browsing through the over three hundred items displayed, you will find items representing such comic legends as The Marx Brothers, Charlie Chaplin, Abbott & Costello, The Three Stooges, and Laurel & Hardy. In addition to the comedy rooms, The Comedy Shrine also offers a lounge area that provides a fully-stocked bar serving beer, wine, liquor, soft drinks, and snacks.
